Competition needed

Hellkom_logoFor those of you who didn't watch the Carte Blanche exposé on Telkom (like myself), there's a site on the internet dedicated to giving Telkom hell. Hellcom (yes, I too wish I had thought of it first). And they let you make your own T-shirts!

The fact that someone has dedicated this much effort and time into pointing out the blundering giant's chronic and usually public mismanagement says something for South African's attitudes to them in general.

We need to bring a competitor in urgently. But apparently, we're not allowed to yet.

Sounds like someone else we all know...

My brother and I had a landline put in when we studied in Pretoria. We were away one holiday and came back to find our line was disconnected because we didn't pay the bill on time. The message on the phone said we had to phone a number to get it connected again, but we couldn't use the phone, not even to phone this Toll-free number!

After an hour of waiting on hold from my brother's cell phone (which cost a fortune because it's only Toll-free from a landline) we eventually got it connected, but with a major penalty.

Two students who were on holiday turned into two very poor students who cut their landline a month later. Yes, I hate them too.
