There can be only Wan!
Biz-community today posted downloads of both of Nando's new controversial television commercials, their first after flying the Hunts coop for the blue skies of the Jupiter Drawing Room. They also get a bit of a debate going on whether the campaign is effective or not. It has people talking, and while that is often not enough, in Nando's case it is. They don't make funny ad's, they are funny ad's. In this country, they well and truly own the funny ad slot. You can get better chicken burgers elsewhere, but you're buying the Nando's experience (and their extra hot peri-peri).
I'm also glad that the hand-over to the new agency was seamless. Open your eyes corporate giants, your ad agencies do not own your brand, they're not even the custodians...you are. Like the rest of us, as much as they'll try convince you otherwise, they're just the help. Next time they make a mistake, fire them, you can get great stuff elsewhere... and what's more make them re-tender every year, even (especially) when they take top honours at the Loeries, because you can.
And on that note, I'm hungry...!
